Panama is widely recognized as having the finest second residence visa retirement program in the world.  It is important to understand what a “Visa” is and does for you, as compared to your Passport.

Your Passport is a document issued to you by your government, permitting you to travel to specified foreign countries. A Visa is an endorsement stamped upon your Passport by government officials of the country you are visiting, indicating that you have been given permission to visit that country.
